Summer Alaska Highlights

This wasn't quite Alaska yet, but had to share getting recognition from the city for having a pretty front yard. Native plants (thanks Ester), drought tolerant, no herbicides/pesticides, color and texture were some of the criteria. The backyard are where the flowers are!
 OK, onto Alaska.

  1. Cindy, I thank you for the pictures on the "way north" The Cassiar is my favorite going north mainly because it is so quiet and full of wildlife. The fishing is good too!

That you were abe to travel after a good summer of rain was specail with the flowers on the way. The northern clime with its long days surely produces the sharpest colors I have ever seen.(I posted some of my flowers today on FB.)

By now you are getting school ready for the children and perhasp this week they started already. Here in Michigan they start after Labor Day. Of course they don't get out until mid June.

There have been great young in the bird kingdom here this summer. I think the warm weather had something to do with that. The hummingbirds are getting theor fill before heading south in the next week or so. ,Many woodpeckeri (4 types) , and finches galore. IT has been fun as I have two feeders right out this window and a suet feeder to keep me entertained.

I had a chance to take a young frend golfing today and it was beautiful at 75 F and a cool north breeze. in a cloudless sky. The only ball I lost was in a tree when it stayed there and didn't come down???

Be well, and keep up the energy as much as possible.

    Blessings across the mountains,
    Jim
