Bruce, Peter and Betsy became fast friends. Between microwave shelves, door jams, and plenty of dried salmon strips they were able to get in some good trips, good stories, and good hang out time.
Packing up went rather quickly this year. It was much easier as everything had to go. Lily is "rolling" her bag across the drift to the awaiting sled.
Several double checks later it looked like we had it all!
Saying good-bye to a fort building friend. Hopefully they will see each other in Oregon some time!
Off to the airstrip for the last time with this crew....
This pilot was great. I stood back while he revved up the engine, taxied out to the runway and lifted off. He took it low, banked, and came right over me waggling his wings. What a great way to say good-bye.
Awww, sweet post. Look forward to seeing you when you get home! (comment #3 - hope this one sticks...)
ReplyDeleteYay, it worked! Have been reading & enjoying your posts all along - but again, when I've tried to leave a comment it hasn't let me. Why today? Who knows... Miss you!!
ReplyDeleteNot sure why, but glad it worked! I am way behind with this. Family has been home for a month now and they all hit the ground running and are doing well.
DeleteWhat a lot of stories, experiences and memories for all of you, Cindy. You are such explorers. And so hardy! Look forward to seeing you again at the end of this chapter.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dorothy! It will be great to reconnect as it's been awhile.
