Saying good-bye

About a month has gone by and I am back in Oregon. There may be more posts as I review photos. My photos are stuck in a cyberspace lala land that I don't understand, so will need my teenagers to help me figure it out.

Leaving my students, aides, and friends was difficult. In order to wrap up the two years the house needed to be emptied out. The snowmobile found another home in Kasigluk, the sled was traded and now a mother will have a way to bring all her fish home after "manukking". As I drove the snowmobile to Kasigluk, I passed this snow remover on the ice road.

I set up the snowmobile for the new owner.

I needed to finish up the girls' quilts before I headed out. They did a great job in choosing colors and learning how to use my 'vintage' Singer machine.

This family was moving to another site and was able to enlist several friends for a couple of moving days.

Me, I took my boxes either one at a time, or a few in a sled, to the village post office. There, they would weigh in, and go book rate or parcel post. We found it was about a dollar a pound.

I appreciate Eli's photo. I will miss this region greatly.
